Job Summary:
SR1, a nonprofit organization, seeks a full-time Senior Director of Financial Strategy and Growth to lead financial strategies across multiple initiatives. This role supports critical programs such as SR1 Agriculture and Food Science, SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy (CPSA), and other emerging projects. The ideal candidate will oversee grant and proposal budget strategies, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead financial planning and strategy for SR1's diverse programs, grants, and educational initiatives.
· Oversee grant and proposal budget strategies, ensuring alignment with funding requirements and organizational goals.
· Identify and evaluate investment opportunities and donation sources to support organizational growth.
· Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
· Produce accurate monthly financial statements and track funding, income, and expenses.
· Support budgeting and strategic financial planning for program expansion and organizational development.
· Explore and implement employee benefits to enhance staff and volunteer welfare.
· Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer to ensure financial strategies align with organizational goals.
· Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and reliability, adapting work schedules as needed for project demands.
- Manage software built for fundraising, and nonprofit accounting with emphasis on education.
Minimum Qualifications:
· A passion for finance in a nonprofit setting.
· Master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
· Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and grant management.
· Strong written and digital communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
· Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
· Familiarity with Single Audit requirements and federal/state grant funding.
· Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
· Accuracy and attention to detail in all financial matters.
Salary and Benefits:
Full-time position with a starting salary of $70,000 per year, with potential increases based on experience and financial contributions. Benefits include 401(k), dental, health, and vision insurance, and paid time off.
Work Environment and Schedule:
Onsite office setting, Monday to Friday.

Key Skills Needed for Non-Profit Finances and Fundraising:
· Financial Analysis and Planning: Ability to create and manage detailed financial plans and budgets.
· Knowledge of Bonds and Securities: Familiarity or willing to research financial strategies such as bond markets, including municipal and educational bonds.
· Fundraising Expertise: Experience or willing to research fundraising strategies and donor relations.
· Educational Finance Management: Knowledge of federal and state grants for educational institutions.
· Investment Management: Experience in managing investment portfolios, including risk management.
· Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of financial regulations for nonprofits and educational institutions.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Strong skills in communicating with donors, investors, and educational administrators.
· Strategic Planning: Ability to align financial strategies with long-term organizational objectives.
· Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess financial health and develop solutions.
· Project Management: Ability to manage multiple financial projects across departments.
· Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with financial software and tools like Excel, QuickBooks, and fundraising software.
· Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
