The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our medical center. As a key member of the patient care team, you will perform diagnostic tests, administer respiratory therapies, and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities- Conduct patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Administer oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers of any unintended responses.
- Transport ventilator-dependent patients as needed.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or ACLS Instructor certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or PALS Instructor certification within 60 months of employment start date.
