NICU Respiratory Therapist RRT CRTT

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in the NICU. This position requires a strong understanding of respiratory care principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers as necessary.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Neonate Resuscitate certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- STABLE certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT), or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
