Position Overview

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PRN MRI and CT Imaging Specialist to enhance our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) scanners to generate high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation.

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will contribute to a variety of diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures, ensuring that we deliver exceptional service and care to our patients and referring healthcare providers. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining professional standards and providing outstanding customer service throughout the imaging process. You will support patients during their imaging experience by clearly explaining procedures and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

Work Schedule: The hours for this position may vary.

Key Responsibilities:

(80%) Patient Imaging:

  • Conducts both routine and complex MRI and CT imaging procedures on specified body areas to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluates patients prior to examinations for any potential risks or contraindications.
  • Prepares patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately for optimal scanning.
  • Adjusts imaging parameters as necessary to ensure quality results.
  • Fosters positive relationships with radiologists, referring offices, and colleagues.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and their families as needed.
  • Adheres strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to safeguard the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Maintains precise patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keeps the work environment organized and clean, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensures compliance with ACR standards and maintains accreditation requirements.

(15%) Departmental Support:

  • Ensures imaging equipment is well-maintained and thoroughly cleaned after each use.
  • Assists in updating the MRI and CT protocol manuals and implementing software upgrades.
  • Monitors inventory levels of medical supplies.
  • Participates in the training of new staff, providing guidance and technical support.

(5%) Additional Duties:

Performs other related tasks as assigned.
