Position Summary: The Logistics Account Executive plays a crucial role in managing the freight operations for designated shipping accounts. This role requires the execution of activities that a) build customer trust, b) enhance existing company capabilities, and c) achieve superior gross net revenue/profit. Responsibilities encompass freight sales, customer spot pricing, carrier negotiations, and operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a consultative partner to clients, providing insights on service offerings, market dynamics, and industry benchmarks while delivering competitive quotes that consider all relevant factors.
  • Proactively create strategies and solutions tailored to address the unique challenges faced by each client.
  • Provide quotes for both spot and contractual freight opportunities.
  • Maintain and grow customer relationships for accounts assigned to you.
  • Negotiate pricing with carriers and cultivate a robust carrier network for specific lanes.
  • Oversee both broker and customer service aspects of assigned shipments and accounts.
  • Ensure effective communication regarding customer payment matters, operational challenges, potential issues, pricing inquiries, and customer needs.
  • Adhere to established operating procedures and protocols.
  • Respond promptly to the needs of other company operating units.
  • Deliver cost-effective solutions that prioritize the long-term interests of the customer.
  • Achieve the agency's annual goals and objectives through personal goal attainment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in logistics, sales, or account management is required.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of the freight brokerage and trucking industry.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills characterized by persuasiveness, assertiveness, confidence, and resilience.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet performance metrics.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Compensation:

  • Base salary plus uncapped commissions, with a target take-home for the first year ranging from $90,000 to $120,000+
