The Energy Solutions Application Specialist serves as a consultative, technical sales expert, responsible for collaborating with electrical consultants, designers, end users, specifiers, EPC contractors, developers, and systems integrators in the energy sector. This includes areas such as Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI), Battery Energy Storage, Solar/Renewables, and Distributed Energy Resource Software and Microgrids.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong technical and commercial acumen, with experience in electrical power distribution, power quality, and control systems.
Additionally, this role requires serving as a subject matter expert for Eaton's Energy Transition / EVCI solutions, developing new business models, and providing application support to position Eaton as a preferred partner in the industry.
The primary focus areas will include power distribution equipment, software, and services related to renewable energy, distributed energy resource integration, microgrids, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, along with Eaton's latest products and solutions in these domains.
In this role, you will:
Lead technical sales engagements with engineering influencers such as consultants, designers, end users, and specifiers to identify consultative and solution-selling opportunities.
Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support: collaborate with internal Eaton teams and third-party technology providers to diagnose business challenges, facilitate requirements gathering, participate in design thinking sessions, and develop product feature descriptions and value propositions.
Work alongside the NAS sales organization, sales representatives, and proposal teams to create compelling proposals for Eaton's comprehensive electrical portfolio, including software and service solutions.
Respond to RFP documents, compiling electrical power distribution, power quality, and control solution requirements, along with system customization and configurations packaged with software and services.
Assist in strategic planning for existing and new accounts to drive the adoption of Eaton's energy transition / EVCI software and hardware solutions, thereby enhancing revenue growth.
Gather and relay Voice of Customer feedback to relevant product, system, solution, and service business leaders to inform future product development, quality improvements, and customer satisfaction initiatives.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical sales or electrical engineering
Possess a valid driver's license
Must be eligible to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

A Professional Engineer (PE) License
Minimum of 7 years of in-depth expertise in the power distribution and controls industry, with experience in developing and deploying electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrids, power distribution, power quality, and control solutions for commercial and industrial markets.
5+ years of experience in translating business use cases into solution requirements and architectural documentation, focusing on electrical products, solutions, software, and services.
Skills:
Strong understanding of emerging industry trends and their implications for customers, including electric vehicle charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, distributed energy resources, microgrids, and energy storage solutions.
Ability to cultivate long-term working relationships with regional sales leaders, product managers, delivery, and engineering teams, leveraging influence to drive innovative growth ideas.
Foster a culture of innovation through learning, empowerment, risk-taking, and an obsessive focus on customer needs.
Act as a change agent for our customers and the regional sales organization, driving influence, trust, and the championing of new ideas.
Exceptional client-facing skills; capable of representing Eaton's electrical portfolio and articulating its value propositions effectively.
Strategic business acumen and complex problem-solving skills within a highly matrixed organization.
Enhance organizational capability by training Eaton's sales team on energy transition / EVCI solutions.
Willingness to travel up to 25%
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentives. This position has a target total compensation range of $159,000 to $234,025.00.
Base salaries are determined based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
