Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our OSBL/Utilities Operations Team. This role presents a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise while contributing to the establishment and operation of a new facility. The selected candidate will be integral to ensuring that our plant design supports safe and efficient operations.

The Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in training and mentoring team members, assisting with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, and ensuring that operational readiness is achieved. As a key representative of the Operations team, you will oversee the commissioning and startup processes, transitioning into a traditional Operations Coordinator role post-stabilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in vendor testing and site acceptance as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project teams on commissioning planning.
  • Contribute to the development of commissioning goals and procedures.
  • Facilitate training for operations personnel.
  • Oversee operational readiness activities, including procedure development and training.
  • Lead system PSSRs during project completion.
  • Ensure safe startup of systems in collaboration with the startup team.
  • Assist in troubleshooting during various operational modes.
  • Participate in safety audits and incident investigations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Supervise the startup and control of process units.
  • Draft daily operating instructions for the OSBL/Utilities area.
  • Collaborate on DCS configuration and alarm management projects.
  • Work effectively with maintenance and technical teams to optimize operations.
  • Support the development and management of annual budgets.
  • Provide coverage for the OSBL Unit Superintendent as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years in operations.
  • At least 8 years of experience in utilities or related operations.
  • Previous supervisory or operations maintenance coordination experience.
  • Experience with major unit turnarounds or commissioning/startup.
  • Commitment to project duration through startup and stabilization.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in utilities processes such as steam generation or waste treatment.
  • Background in major capital projects.
  • Familiarity with HAZOP/LOPA methodologies.
  • Experience with SmartProcedures and eSoms.
