Nursing Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at August Healthcare of Rose Manor as a Nursing Department Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, ensuring that all nursing personnel comply with facility policies and procedures, and providing guidance and support to staff members.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all nursing personnel, including CNAs/GNAs, comply with facility policies and procedures, and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Review and update departmental policies and procedures, ensuring that they are current and reflect best practices in long-term care.
- Provide discipline and evaluations of assigned nursing personnel, ensuring that all actions are taken in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Meet with nursing personnel to plan shifts, services, and activities, ensuring that resident care is prioritized and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures performed in the facility.
- Participate in the maintenance and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
- Participate in facility surveys or inspections made by authorized government agencies, as may be requested.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in nursing, with experience in long-term care and leadership. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff members, residents, and families.
