The Corporate Banking Senior Executive plays a pivotal role in the origination and structuring of corporate lending transactions, collaborating with a comprehensive coverage team to foster robust client relationships. This position involves delivering lending expertise across various sectors, establishing credit facilities to enhance trading product offerings, and facilitating credit approvals for Trade Finance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes financial market expertise to build and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Enhances the Bank of Montreal brand through active community engagement.
- Implements cross-selling initiatives to maximize client value across all service areas.
- Contributes as a vital member of the deal team, aiming to optimize sector engagement and profitability.
- Develops comprehensive pitch materials for clients, leading presentations to showcase financial solutions.
- Monitors industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact client portfolios and business requirements.
- Initiates outreach to partners for new client acquisition.
- Collaborates with deal teams and product specialists to ensure accurate client information is available.
- Prepares essential credit documentation for stakeholders.
- Manages a diverse lending portfolio, reviewing and monitoring account performance regularly.
- Identifies opportunities for cross-selling and enhancing client engagement.
- Works closely with sector coverage partners to deliver innovative and timely solutions.
- Provides strategic insights into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all firm products and services.
- Facilitates the execution of strategic initiatives in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures alignment among stakeholders and supports successful deal completions.
- Conducts thorough due diligence and credit analysis on client relationships.
- Balances the Bank's risk appetite with client needs in recommendations.
- Engages in continuous improvement efforts to enhance client experiences.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or accounting preferred.
- MBA, CFA, or equivalent experience in financial services is desirable.
- Extensive experience in investment banking, particularly in corporate lending environments.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial applications.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and influence skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.
This role is integral to the success of the Corporate Banking division, ensuring that client needs are met with innovative financial solutions and strategic insights.
