Position Overview

In this capacity, the CT Imaging Specialist conducts computerized tomography examinations at a proficient level that does not necessitate constant oversight of technical specifics. This role involves executing technical procedures that require independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for computerized tomographic diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct computerized tomographic examinations in alignment with departmental protocols to deliver the highest quality diagnostic information to physicians. Engage in advanced research initiatives. Contribute to the formulation of new procedural protocols. Serve as the CT technical authority within the department. Diagnose equipment issues and coordinate repairs in the absence of the assistant manager.
  • Provide clear explanations of the procedure to patients and address any inquiries prior to the examination.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience through work or education
  • Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; CT Imaging Specialist

Licensure/Certifications:

Mandatory:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
