Job Summary:

At Blue Origin, we're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. As a Structural and Mechanical Systems Engineer I - Intern Conversion, you'll play a key role in designing, installing, modifying, analyzing, repairing, and testing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. You'll also be responsible for developing, releasing, and supporting engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and operations.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement standard engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
Develop, release, and support engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and operations.
Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew.

Requirements:

Successfully completed an internship with Blue Origin in 2024.
Enrolled or recently graduating student attending a college or university.
Able to start working full-time on or before September of 2025.
Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or similar discipline.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for Blue's Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
