As a Travel Sales Counselor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel sales and support experiences to our Members while building a book of business and attracting new clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sell International & Domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail and air travel.
  • Research and compare travel packages to match member needs for delivering exceptional member experiences.
  • Stay current with world events and travel industry developments, providing relevant information to members.
  • Process and interpret travel documents for members purchasing travel products with AAA and inform them of governmental requirements.
  • Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
  • Cross-sell products and services, such as insurance and new membership accounts.
Requirements:
  • Basic computer skills and industry-specific applications.
  • GDS experience required.
  • Knowledge of travel products and worldwide geography.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and ability to listen to member needs.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services (preferred).
  • Travel Institute certification as CTA, CTC, or CTIE (preferred).
Work Environment:
  • Works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • May travel for business meetings or conferences.

This role is subject to an incentive plan with commissions and/or piece rate bonuses. Top performers earn more, with most employees earning between $0 - $38,000 annually in incentives, contingent on performance. New Travel Counselors are eligible for a bonus guarantee for the first five quarters.
