We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Sales Counselor to join our team at AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. As a Travel Sales Counselor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel sales and support experiences to our Members while building a book of business and attracting new clientele.
Key Responsibilities:- Sell International & Domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail and air travel.
- Research and compare travel packages to match member needs for delivering exceptional member experiences.
- Stay current with world events and travel industry developments, providing relevant information to members.
- Process and interpret travel documents for members purchasing travel products with AAA and inform them of governmental requirements.
- Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
- Cross-sell products and services, such as insurance and new membership accounts.
- Basic computer skills and industry-specific applications.
- GDS experience required.
- Knowledge of travel products and worldwide geography.
- Strong consultative selling skills and ability to listen to member needs.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services (preferred).
- Travel Institute certification as CTA, CTC, or CTIE (preferred).
- Works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
- May travel for business meetings or conferences.
This role is subject to an incentive plan with commissions and/or piece rate bonuses. Top performers earn more, with most employees earning between $0 - $38,000 annually in incentives, contingent on performance. New Travel Counselors are eligible for a bonus guarantee for the first five quarters.
