Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UPMC Shadyside. As a key member of our Surgical Oncology GI department, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, procedural interventions, and education.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Current state RN license and CRNP certification or current state PA license and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a CRNP or PA in an acute care setting.
- Completion of an approved acute care nurse practitioner program or a graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA).
- BSN, MSN preferred for CRNP, BS or MS preferred for PA.
- Completion of National Certification.
- Must achieve a Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on annual performance evaluation for consideration and to maintain status annually.
