Job Title: Mid-Level Database Administrator

At Alaka'i Services Group Inc. and Po'e Hana Group, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring database integrity, implementing security measures, managing user access, performing regular backups, and optimizing database performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database systems of high availability and quality to meet the specialized needs of end-users.
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user in the appropriate format and in a timely manner.
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data to minimize database downtime.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Ensure web sites and products are compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
  • Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with database security, backups, and recovery operations.
  • Familiarity with SQL scripting and database optimization techniques.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
  • Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.
