Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist, under the guidance of the Quality Manager, will deliver technical knowledge in enhancing processes through quality management methodologies and lean practices. The main goal is to avert defective products from reaching clients, aligning with the company's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross-departmental problem-solving sessions employing root cause analysis techniques and follow up with action plans for resolution.
  • Execute reliability and repeatability assessments along with measurement system evaluations.
  • Design and implement auditing processes and measurement systems for both internal and external operations.
  • Guide and educate Quality Control Inspectors and Process Auditors.
  • Review products, operational instructions, and facility procedures to ensure their effectiveness and proper application.
  • Actively engage in formulating and executing swift solutions for clients, documenting containment measures, corrective actions, and preventive strategies.
  • Utilize statistical methods to conduct capability, verification, and validation evaluations on both internal and external processes and equipment.
  • Evaluate risks and prioritize activities to guarantee the timely execution of essential quality tasks.
  • Ensure that equipment is current, well-maintained, and calibrated.
  • Address quality requests as needed.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (such as mechanical engineering).
  • A minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to lead teams and collaborate effectively as a team member.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and Total Quality Management principles.
  • Ability to organize and manage personal workload with minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools for problem resolution, process measurement, control, and enhancement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project).
  • Experience with Minitab statistical software (or equivalent).
  • Involvement in Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer (ASQ preferred).
