Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

NORCAL Ambulance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our fleet of vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of NORCAL Ambulance's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of fleet maintenance employees, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet maintenance program, including scheduling and tracking of maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and meet the needs of our customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure that we are getting the best possible service and support for our fleet.
  • Manage the fleet budget, ensuring that we are staying within budget and making the most efficient use of our resources.
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility, including the development of policies and procedures.
  • Determine repair and service requirements and coordinate necessary services, including scheduling and tracking of maintenance and repairs.
  • Track and record service invoices and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the Support Services Director to resolve any issues or concerns related to fleet maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as automotive technology or business administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and management, preferably in the ambulance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, including diagnostic and repair techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid California Driver's License and Medical Examiner's Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ford Transit experience.
  • Knowledge of computer-based inventory systems.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
