We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Service team at Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard (ASECB). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our hospital.
Responsibilities- Monitor anesthesia for various procedures, including endoscopy, CT scans, soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and laparoscopic procedures.
- Assist doctors during patient appointments, providing outstanding client communication and education.
- Perform sterile scrub and assist doctors throughout surgical procedures, including abdominal explores, cruciate repairs, fracture repairs, thoracotomies, and both laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgeries.
- Advocate for patients, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients.
- Develop and share knowledge of equipment and materials used, their availability, and applications.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the veterinary field with anesthesia experience required.
- Candidates with VTS in Surgery and/or Anesthesia are prioritized.
- Solid technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team are required.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; and proactive thinking with the drive to maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in stressful situations are necessary.
- Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents and fluids is essential.
- You are an experienced Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
- You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people who share that same value.
- You can adapt to the individual needs of each patient, are eager to continue enhancing your skill set, and truly want to make a difference.
