Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and document control systems for various types of custom automated equipment
  • Conduct electrical design, robotic learning and programming, peripheral device programming, and machine PLC/HMI programming
  • Produce and maintain design drawings via CAD, CREO
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems
  • Coordinate machine debug, power-up, and machine validation, and improvement
  • Develop test protocols for all aspects of mechanical components, equipment and machinery
  • Provide ongoing support to Manufacturing
  • Drive continuous efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and/or Mechatronics Engineering, or relevant experience in lieu thereof
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Automation role
  • Experience in designing mechanical assemblies and programming systems in Robotics, Automated Systems, Vision Systems and Machine Controls
  • Ability to problem solve effectively
  • Accurate and detail oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks and objectives
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the organization
  • Strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements

This role requires frequent lifting and moving of a minimum of 15 pounds without assistance.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment can be soft to extremely loud.

Travel Requirements

Infrequent travel may be required.
