Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly operations necessary to construct, maintain, and repair tool and tool components.
  • Work from drawings and specifications to fabricate tools and tool components.
  • Use a wide variety of fabrication processes for completion or modification of tools and tooling details.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and manual machines, including milling machines and lathes.
  • Operate automated control pattern and profile manufacturing machines, including large scale additive manufacturing machines, waterjets, routers, and laser cutters.
  • Use a variety of measuring instruments, including micrometers, dial indicators, transits, levels, scales, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Perform deburring, blending, and grinding operations as required.
  • Responsible for the quality of own work and accountable for dimensional accuracy.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Trades training and moderate computer skills required.
  • Fabrication experience and mechanical aptitude preferred.

Working Conditions:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to intermittent exposure to dust, water, fumes, and plaster with some skin irritation.
