Your Role
We are currently seeking a Transportation Engineer/Modeler with a minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering or planning to become part of our multidisciplinary team. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for flexibility while collaborating with colleagues.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Conducting transportation planning analyses, including traffic impact assessments and operational evaluations.
- Implementing travel demand models, particularly using EMME, along with model preparation and result analysis.
- Performing microsimulation and mesoscopic modeling, as well as dynamic traffic assignments.
- Supporting traffic data collection and subsequent analysis.
- Drafting technical memoranda and comprehensive reports.
- Solid understanding of travel demand modeling principles and advanced methodologies.
- Proficient in utilizing large datasets to analyze and model travel behavior.
- Experience with both activity-based and trip-based travel demand forecasting models.
- Familiarity with travel demand modeling software such as EMME, Cube, and TransCAD, with a strong preference for EMME experience.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of conveying technical findings to a broader audience.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience with large databases and dashboard development tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, MySQL) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C, Java, and Python is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with standard business software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with GIS software is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, or a related field.
- A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in transportation engineering, modeling, or planning.
