Transportation Engineer/Modeler

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer/Modeler to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting, multi-faceted projects and grow your career.

Your Opportunity

With a minimum of 5 years of transportation engineering or planning experience, you will be responsible for performing transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, speed studies, and toll road feasibility studies. You will also develop travel demand models, conduct microsimulation modeling, and assist with data collection plans and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, speed studies, and toll road feasibility studies
  • Developing travel demand models, including model preparation, calibration, and analysis of results
  • Conducting microsimulation modeling, mesoscopic modeling, and dynamic traffic assignments of large-scale networks
  • Assisting with and developing traffic data collection plans and data analysis
  • Presenting results to clients and managing project documentation
  • Preparing technical memoranda and reports
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of fundamentals in travel demand modeling, including advanced practices. Experience working with activity-based and trip-based travel demand forecasting models is desired, as well as experience with model calibration and validation. You should also have experience with travel demand modeling tools like Aimsun, EMME, Cube, and TransCAD, including cross-platform data manipulation techniques.

A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, or a related discipline is required. A master's degree is preferred. Minimum 5 years' work experience in transportation engineering, modeling, or planning and/or project management is required.

We offer a competitive salary range of $94,600 - $137,200, depending on experience.
