Information System Security Engineer - TS/SCIKBR is in search of an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide expert support in the realm of Cyber Security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver analytical and technical security advice to the client.
- Lead the determination of security requirements for various projects.
- Engage in network design assessments and security evaluations for the client's networks.
- Collaborate with system development teams to ensure adherence to network security protocols.
- Identify additional security needs based on Risk Management Framework (RMF) or arising from security vulnerabilities that threaten the client's systems.
- Examine and evaluate new systems (both hardware and software) and offer recommendations regarding system security.
- Review Security Requirements Traceability Matrixes (SRTMs), System Security Plans (SSPs), and other Information Assurance (IA) documentation for thoroughness.
- Provide Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and RMF guidance to system owners to facilitate successful accreditation.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced Information Assurance certification.
- DoD 8570 certification in Information Assurance Technician (IAT) or Information Assurance Manager (IAM).
- Experience in security systems engineering across various computer hardware and software operating systems and application solutions in both standalone and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Familiarity with security features and vulnerabilities of various operating systems as outlined by NIST, DISA (STIGs), and USCYBERCOM.
- Experience in network and systems security administration, operating systems security configuration, and account management best practices.
- Proficiency in implementing the RMF Process and NIST technical controls, along with developing and maintaining relevant certification and accreditation documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience presenting to senior client personnel.
- Understanding of the client's Lifecycle Readiness process.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with IA vulnerability assessments and associated network and system testing tools (e.g., Retina, HBSS, EVSS, ACAS).
- Familiarity with Splunk and ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of Cross Domain Systems (CDS).
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) in the Cyber Security sector.
Clearance Requirement: An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is mandatory for consideration for this role.
