Primary Care Office Nurse/CMA

The Wabash General Hospital Primary Care Office Nurse/CMA plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a family practice setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assisting the provider in various medical procedures, administering medications, and updating patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Take vital signs and assist in treatments, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Administer medications and monitor usage, maintaining accurate records of patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing medical questions and concerns, and making referrals to other care providers as needed.
- Participate in patient education, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives, promoting a safe and healthy environment for patients.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization processes are followed.
- Order, prepare, and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, ensuring efficient and effective care.
- Screen telephone calls, take messages, and relay information to the physician as necessary.
- Perform diagnostic testing and proficiency testing on equipment and diagnostic materials, maintaining accurate records of testing performed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or CMA program.
- Current Illinois license as a registered or licensed practical nurse or CMA certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- Good working knowledge of the nursing process and strong nursing practice skills, including physical assessment skills.
- Clinical experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
