The Wabash General Hospital Primary Care Office Nurse/CMA plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a family practice setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist providers in delivering healthcare services, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and updating patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to discuss medical-related issues and questions, and make referrals to other care providers as needed.
- Participate in patient education, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and ensure cleanliness and sterilization processes are followed.
- Order, prepare, and maintain supplies and equipment, and perform diagnostic testing and proficiency testing on equipment.
- Accurately record testing results and update patient electronic medical records.
- Assist support personnel in scheduling tests and complete FMLA/WC forms as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or CMA program.
- Current Illinois license as a registered or licensed practical nurse or CMA certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- Good working knowledge of the nursing process and strong nursing practice skills, including physical assessment skills.
- Clinical experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am-12:00 pm
