We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patient and treatment rooms, sterilize medical equipment, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Room patients, obtain health history, and measure and document vital signs.
  • Document patient care and medical history using electronic medical record (EMR) software.
  • Assist physicians with minor, in-office procedures and perform CLIA waived testing.
  • Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, and handle referrals.
  • Administer injections or treatments and perform routine laboratory tests.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate, or certification, or 4+ months of experience performing critical skills of a Medical Assistant after on-the-job training.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) or willingness to attain certification within 9 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA).
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a family practice setting.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) software.
  • Experience performing medical back-office tasks, including injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and administering medications.
