The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) plays a pivotal role in partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and other nursing leadership. This position is essential for steering the operational framework within the Nursing Department, ensuring effective management of resources, patient flow, and staffing.
Core Responsibilities
- Compliance Oversight: Guarantee that all operations align with the standards set by regulatory authorities, including the Joint Commission and CMS.
- Performance Management: Supervise the performance metrics of hospital throughput and departmental effectiveness, leveraging data analytics to enhance operational outcomes.
- Quality Improvement: Spearhead initiatives aimed at process enhancement, quality assurance, and patient care advancements as directed by organizational goals.
- Systems Management: Serve as the primary systems administrator for the Nursing Department, overseeing platforms such as Scheduling Excellence and clinical dashboards.
- Data-Driven Insights: Utilize innovative approaches to gather, interpret, and present data that facilitate informed decision-making.
- Nursing Vision Advocacy: Uphold and promote the nursing vision and mission through exemplary professional conduct and communication.
- Resource Allocation: Aid in the identification and acquisition of essential resources, including personnel and equipment, for the nursing division.
- Patient-Centric Environment: Champion a culture focused on patient care and employee engagement through leadership and example.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Foster strong relationships with staff, patients, and medical professionals through effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications
- Licensure: A valid Florida RN license or an appropriate compact license, with the expectation of obtaining a Florida RN license within a specified timeframe if applicable.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications in Executive Nursing Practice or Healthcare Administration, along with membership in relevant professional organizations.
- Experience: A minimum of five years in progressive leadership roles within healthcare, with at least three years in a direct leadership capacity in a hospital setting.
- Education: An Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
