We are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in building systems design, particularly in multifamily residential, mixed-use high-rise, hospitality, and commercial sectors. This role involves conducting inspections, testing, and generating detailed plans, specifications, and reports for our clients. As a technical and managerial position, it requires overseeing projects from inception to completion, covering all phases such as feasibility studies, conceptual design, schematic design, construction documentation, and project administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage small to medium-scale HVAC projects while implementing mechanical engineering initiatives.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of mechanical HVAC design standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to ensure project success.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate and facilitate internal project meetings, ensuring clear communication among team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure compliance with timelines, both internally and with external partners.
- Conduct on-site inspections, documenting conditions, performing field tests, and creating sketches as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of field measurements and calculations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare professional correspondence with clients and contractors, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Interpret investigation reports and bid documents accurately to guide project implementation.
- Communicate project status and proactively address any issues, escalating unresolved matters to management as needed.
- Organize and maintain project records, ensuring easy access to essential data for future reference.
- Gather post-project feedback to identify improvement areas and communicate insights to management.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments through continuous education and professional networking.
Technical Skills:
- Utilize technical expertise to support architectural and engineering design processes.
- Conduct design calculations and produce CAD drawings.
- Perform peer reviews of technical data prepared by third parties.
- Conduct inspections and data collection to identify root causes of issues.
- Supervise testing activities to ensure accurate data collection and interpretation.
- Assist in developing and reviewing technical specifications and construction documents.
- Generate comprehensive field reports detailing observations and findings from site visits.
Client Relations:
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to relay findings and observations to stakeholders.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members to understand project scope, budget, and deliverables.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on technical issues across various projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of experience in MEP consulting and design engineering.
- Professional Engineer license is required.
- OSHA-10 Certification is preferred.
- Valid driver's license is necessary for travel to client sites.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Proficient in HVAC design and load calculation software.
- Ability to coordinate HVAC system controls and develop complex design diagrams.

- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Safe operation of ladders and scaffolding.
- Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
