Director of Nursing Job Description

Country House Lincoln III, an Agemark Senior Living Community, is seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee the quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care for our residents. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide direction to our wellness staff, ensuring individualized care and exceptional resident experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example, interacting with residents and staff, and walking the building to stay involved in care.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of resident service plans, ensuring compliance with doctor orders and meeting healthcare needs.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding resident health issues and service plans.
  • Review and update service plans according to state requirements.
  • Perform and supervise the performance of individual nursing services as required.
  • Provide direction and monitoring to all wellness staff.
  • Implement wellness programs to maximize health through education and preventative care.
  • Assess prospective residents to determine care needs and potential residency.
  • Coordinate wellness service procedures to move in new residents.
  • Train and orientate staff concerning wellness services function and procedures as directed.
  • Identify at-risk residents and help create a risk management plan.
  • Facilitate alternative placement or supplemental care if needed.
  • Oversee medication setup and delivery system.
  • Respond to resident emergency calls and review and document emergency call responses.
  • Ensure safe, secure storage of all medications, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assure accurate and timely documentation and submission of services provided for resident billing.
Requirements:
  • RN or LPN licensure.
  • Valid license for the applicable state.
  • 1 year working with seniors, with knowledge of health factors in seniors.
  • 2 years of people management experience.
  • Knowledge of medication, dosage, terminology, and medication side effects.
  • Proven track record of integrity, verbal/written communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong English communication skills.
