Safety Manager

Dennis Group Construction & Site Safety is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety department, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing our Health and Safety Program for all projects. Your expertise will ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on our sites, adhering to federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety programs, training, and activities for construction projects.
- Conduct job site safety inspections, special studies, and investigations related to safety and health.
- Compile incident rate data on injuries, accidents, and other safety metrics.
- Prepare and deliver safety toolbox talks, training topics, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Activities Hazard Analysis (AHA) reports.
- Attend pre-construction conferences, pre-work meetings, and in-progress project meetings to ensure safety protocols are in place.
- Conduct and document Jobsite Safety Observations and review subcontractor safety pre-qualification submittals.
- Work with Construction Managers and Sr. Safety Managers to establish job site safety procedures and policies.
- May be required to act as a full-time on-site safety coordinator for projects as needed.
- Review safety programs with client representatives and governmental agencies.
- Research and implement construction safety best practices.
- Support talent growth within the organization and educate personnel on accident/injury prevention procedures.
- Investigate accidents, determine root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Prepare and distribute data reports on accident and incident metrics, such as OSHA recordable and LT rates.
- Bachelor's degree in health and safety, risk management, or construction is required.
- 4-7 years of experience overseeing safety activities on construction projects.
- 4-7 years of work experience in developing, implementing, and coordinating health and safety training and activities for construction projects.
- 4-7 years of work experience in performing construction job site safety inspections and conducting special studies and investigations related to safety and health.
- OSHA training certifications and other professional certifications.
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout North America as required.
- Proficient in MS Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Sound judgment and independent decision-making required.
- Self-starter, strong interpersonal skills required, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and prolonged periods of standing and walking around project sites with uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of job sites in all types of weather.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the job site.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
