Job Summary

The Child Nutrition Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality standards in food production, sanitation, and safety practices within the Child Nutrition Department. This position requires a strong understanding of food handling safety, personnel management, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Coordinate and assist with summer Seamless Summer Option and CACFP programs.
  • Train and support personnel in food service management.
  • Fill in for food service staff on campus when necessary.
  • Assist in food preparation and serving.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation requirements are met.
  • Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • ServSafe and/or Food Handlers license preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, and other hazards. The ability to work with hands in water and around machinery with moving parts is also required.
