The College of Southern Maryland is seeking a qualified instructor to teach various courses for our Kids' and Teen College program. This program offers comprehensive, exciting youth programming for children ages 5 to 17 years old, from Summer classes, Year-Round classes and even Homeschool classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging curriculum for children ages 5-7, 7-10, 11-14, and 14-17 in subjects such as arts and photography, music, dance and theater, languages, math, robotics and gaming, reading and writing, science, and cooking.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and successful program.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to plan and implement program activities and events.
- Assist with program marketing and recruitment efforts to attract new students and families.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- One year of teaching experience with a targeted age group of 5-7, 7-10, 11-14, or 14-17.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
