About the Role

We are a diverse team at NSG Group/Pilkington that develops and tests innovative bonding systems on automotive glass. As a Research and Development Intern, you will play a key role in preparing and testing samples, primarily in the areas of bonding systems and failure analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with R&D experiments as needed, focusing on bonding systems and materials science
  • Assemble, condition, and test laboratory samples to ensure quality and safety
  • Collate data and write detailed lab reports to document findings
  • Participate in large-scale experiments, including design of experiments (DOEs), to drive innovation and improvement
  • Keep a detailed lab notebook of all testing performed and maintain accurate records
  • Enter data into appropriate data systems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Plan and execute a personal project, chosen based on company needs and your interests, with guidance from our team
  • Maintain clean and organized lab spaces, adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Support health and safety initiatives, recycling programs, and other environmental initiatives as needed
  • Adhere to NSG Group/Pilkington's Standards of Business Conduct and Values and Principles
Requirements
  • Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or chemistry
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and basic statistics
  • Self-motivated, flexible individual with strong observation, organizational, and note-taking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with engineering math and basic statistics, or willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in chemistry and surface structure
