POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for the design and development of electronic components, this position entails overseeing the entire process from concept to realization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing customer requests for connector systems.
  • Creating connector systems informed by customer feedback, production requirements, testing data, and established engineering standards.
  • Detailing designs and coordinating the fabrication of prototype products along with testing procedures.
  • Utilizing computer-aided design and engineering software.
  • Ensuring that final designs adhere to functional and performance criteria.
  • Guaranteeing that projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe and budget.
  • Formulating manufacturing processes for newly designed components.
  • Designing and detailing tools for component fabrication or assembly.
  • Addressing project-related challenges by collaborating with vendors, clients, shop personnel, and other stakeholders as necessary.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS include:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or technical school.
  • Three to seven years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical guidelines, or regulatory documents.
  • Capability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Competence in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
  • Aptitude for identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms.
