**Description**

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

* Assemble standard to complex and/or difficult equipment and products under limited supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures.

* Read, interpret, and follow basic to complex blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.

* Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.

* Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.

* Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner.

* Maintain an clean and safe work area.

* Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.

* Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.

* Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

* Explain and demonstrate assembly line procedures and techniques to lower level Assembly Mechanics.

* Assist lower level Assembly Mechanics in resolving technical problems and advise supervisor of complex assembly problems.

* May interpret specifications and work orders for lower level Assembly Mechanics.

* May assign and revise work assignments to lower level Assembly Mechanics as required by priorities and work availability.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

* High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).

* Prior experience in an assembly environment required.

* Knowledge of electrical assembly required.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* At least 2 years in an assembly environment.

* Advanced knowledge of electrical assembly.

* 1 year in battery, electrical, or mechanical production.

* High Voltage Certification.

* Forklift Operator.

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing.

* Prior supervisory experience preferred.

* Experience with ISO/TS certifications.

* Technical/Electrical Certification or Associates Degree in Electronics

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**

Typical physical requirements for this role may include the following:

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or small mechanical parts.

* Prolonged periods of standing at an assembly line and operating the line.

* May be asked to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.

* Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.

* Exposed to quiet to medium noise levels in a manufacturing environment.

* Exposure to high voltage systems.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

Lean manufacturing flow line; work outside as well as in shop environment; shop environment may not

have air conditioning.
