Position Title: Team Member

Department: Operations

Reporting Structure: Reports to Team Leader / Group Leader

FLSA Classification: Nonexempt

Position Summary:

  • This position is designed for Team Members at BLG. The operational framework encompasses various sectors, each with similar essential duties and responsibilities. While Team Members may not assume all responsibilities immediately, our objective is to cross-train them across multiple operational areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to company policies as detailed in the employee handbook.
  2. Follow established work instructions.
  3. Handle loading and unloading of trucks, order picking, repacking, packing, sequencing, and labeling for shipping and receiving.
  4. Conduct preventive maintenance on shipping containers and equipment.
  5. Maintain delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members from other shifts.
  7. Ensure cleanliness of the operational facility to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
  8. Secure and lock out equipment when not in use.
  9. Transport waste materials to designated disposal areas.
  10. Operate vehicles (e.g., truck, van, forklift) to move orders and materials as required.
  11. Ensure quality control by preventing damaged products from being shipped and not accepting damaged materials.
  12. Package products for shipping, including shrink wrapping and labeling.
  13. Stage products for loading onto delivery vehicles.
  14. Load and unload delivery trucks to receive stock and fulfill orders.
  15. Participate in physical inventory counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
  16. Report to Team Leader or management regarding delivery statuses and other operational matters.
  17. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to shipping and equipment transfers.
  18. Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure operational efficiency.
  19. Be prepared for mandatory overtime as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to perform multiple non-technical tasks, with a potential need for skill enhancement to adapt to changing job conditions. Required skills include adherence to safety protocols, operating warehouse equipment, and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge of basic math, written procedures, and effective communication is essential.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions. The Team Member must be capable of addressing problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • A forklift operating license is preferred, but on-the-job training is available.
