Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Health Information Management team, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of Health Information Management services.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring that departmental expenses are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide training and education to staff on Health Information Management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all medical records are accurately and efficiently managed, including record retrieval, release of information, and document imaging.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, including The Joint Commission and Board of Health.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
  • Minimum of one year of Health Information Management department experience, with three or more years strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of healthcare management experience, with three or more years strongly preferred.
  • RHIA or RHIT certification strongly preferred.
