Job Summary

As a Child Life Specialist at Children's Health, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and families throughout their medical journey. Our team collaborates with medical staff to provide emotional support during procedures, new diagnoses, and promote normalization and positive coping through play.

Responsibilities

• Document patient's developmental needs, coping, and plan to facilitate mastery in patient medical records and recognize subtle changes in patient psychosocial assessment.
• Facilitate coping assessment, individual and group support, procedural and surgical preparation and support, medical play, and coordinate and initiate involvement in appropriate community activities.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of the healthcare team and initiate support to parents/caregivers regarding developmental needs and interventions for their child.

Requirements

• Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Graduate or professional work or advanced degree.
