Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at Harvard University. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research group focused on the evolution of arthropods and will contribute to a multidisciplinary project investigating the water to land transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on the evolution of arthropod respiration using a combination of phylogenomics, physical chemistry, and invertebrate paleobiology.
  • Collaborate with an international team of researchers to investigate the micro and macroevolution of arthropod adaptations.
  • Develop and apply advanced computational methods for analyzing 3D data and phylogenetic analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of new research projects and proposals.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in paleobiology, invertebrate zoology, evolutionary biology, or a related field.
  • A strong track record of scientific publications and international conference presentations.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following skills: micro computed-tomography, 3D data analysis, geometric morphometrics, computational fluid dynamics, comparative anatomy, and phylogenetic methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialist knowledge of invertebrate zoology and evolutionary biology, particularly arthropods.
  • Experience with micro-CT imaging, tissue staining, and specimen preparation.
