Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher (or research associate) to join our team at Harvard University's Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. The successful candidate will have expertise in comparative genomics and sequence analysis, with a strong interest in bioinformatics programming, data mining, and cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in comparative genomics and sequence analysis, with a focus on parasitic plants.
  • Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines for data analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with lab members to generate novel data for comparative genomics and work to aggregate and extract plant tissue samples for sequencing and analysis.
  • Contribute intellectually to broader research themes and directions in the lab.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related areas.
  • Hands-on experience with bioinformatics programming, including Linux, scripting, and R.
  • Expertise in data mining and cleaning.
  • Experience with the analysis of next-generation sequence data and whole-genome sequencing and RNA-Seq.
  • Fluency in English written and oral communication.
