POSITION LOCATION
This role is based in a vibrant operational setting.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician collaborates with the Parts and Service Department, undertaking various responsibilities within the workshop and yard.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Routine Safety and Equipment Inspections:
- Conduct inspections on forklifts
- Perform safety checks within the workshop
- Examine eyewash stations
- Inspect fire extinguishers
- Check lifting chains
- Verify expiration dates on all safety certifications and equipment
- Yard Operations:
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of machinery
- Manage the check-in and check-out of equipment
- Oversee the operational status of all equipment
- Daily Maintenance Duties:
- Ensure the steam rack and mud blaster are functioning properly
- Maintain cleanliness in all work areas
- Complete daily operational checklists
- Parts Management:
- Receive and check in freight
- Retrieve and organize parts
- Maintain an orderly warehouse
- Perform additional tasks as required.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient in basic written communication.
- Capable of effectively conveying information to customers and team members.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling measurements and calculations.
- Consistent ability to perform duties safely and attentively.
- Ability to interpret instructions in both written and verbal formats.
- Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with one to three months of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
A valid Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands of this position require the employee to regularly use hands and fingers for handling tools and equipment, frequently climb or balance, and occasionally sit or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves working in various weather conditions, with frequent exposure to wet or humid environments. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Hourly Wage: $18.00 to $22.00
Compensation is based on the individual’s skills and experience.
