About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products at the manufacturing level. This position will be responsible for performing quality audits, conducting dimensional studies, and performing customer-specific product part approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modify or create Quality Procedure Manuals (QPM)
  • Perform dimensional studies on new or existing processes and products
  • Perform quality audits on manufacturing cells and departments
  • Perform customer-specific product part approval on new products
  • Conduct daily lab testing on all products
  • Perform testing for research and development on new products, processes, and adhesives
  • Collaborate with employees to resolve production and quality issues, track performance metrics, and communicate needs and issues with recommendations for change to supervisor
  • Makes fine adjustments to machine to bring part within tolerances and performs routine preventative maintenance and machine set-up if necessary
  • Knows how to operate machinery by performing all duties to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations
  • Contribute to and foster a safe work environment by upholding all safety rules and procedures, asking questions when unsure, and embracing our Target Zero philosophy
  • Read, understand, and follow production schedules ensuring the right product is manufactured at the right time and at the right place
  • Follow production job orders and schematics, this position adjusts/sets equipment parameters and ensures applicable parameters are achieved
  • Gather materials as needed based on established production schedules to ensure a continuous and efficient process
  • Perform quality checks throughout the production process, ensuring manufacturing specifications are achieved
  • Communicate professionally and effectively to support product flow through plant
  • Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate
  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Regular Attendance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic math skills with ability to perform basic math calculations, such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Plus, knowledge of fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Ability to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and use push carts in a safe and efficient manner
  • Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format
  • Ability to work in a team environment; good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change
  • Good hand/eye coordination

The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs and on occasion, 20 lbs. regularly, 10 lbs. frequently; also to sit, kneel, and stoop.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working amongst moving parts, oil, grease, coolants, fumes, and other airborne particulates which can become hazardous under certain circumstances.
