Geotechnical Staff Engineer I Position

At Verdantas, we are seeking a talented Geotechnical Staff Engineer I to join our team in the Wilmington, DE office. As a Geotechnical Staff Engineer I, you will play a key role in the investigation and design of building foundations, earthen structures, and roadways. You will collect and help interpret data through research, file reviews, field observations and measurements, field testing, and other methods. You will also assist in preparing detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports. Additionally, you will perform computations and process data using computer software or other established methods. You will perform geotechnical laboratory analysis at our on-campus laboratory. You will observe and document field activities and prepare construction documentation reports. You will also assist in preparing cost estimates for design implementation. You will perform site inspections under the supervision of senior engineers. You will demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the investigation and design of building foundations, earthen structures, and roadways

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Institution, Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- CAD experience a plus
- Strong calculation skills
- The ability to interpret work plans
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
