Job Title: Major Gifts Officer/Senior Major Gifts Officer Wharton External AffairsJob Summary:

Wharton External Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Major Gifts Officer/Senior Major Gifts Officer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals and organizations in support of Wharton's mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy to secure funding for Wharton's priorities
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals and organizations with a giving capacity of $100,000 and above
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, parents, and friends of the university
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to leverage resources and expertise
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in major gifts fundraising and apply this knowledge to drive results
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Proven track record of success in securing major gifts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
