Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Garver's growing Electrical Resiliency and Illumination (ERI) team is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Power Systems in our Denver, CO office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working with our staff on a wide array of facility, building, and airport-related design, construction, project administration, and client management services for a variety of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical design and construction support for a variety of projects, including infrastructure improvements to facilities, airport airside electrical systems, and power systems for airfield lighting.
  • Develop detailed design and specification documents for facilities, including one-line diagrams, power plans, system modeling, lighting plans, and required design calculations.
  • Coordinate with other support discipline activities on projects, coordinating with regional Garver offices and regulating agencies, utilities, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.
  • Assist the Electrical Team Leader in coordinating schedules, managing multiple assignments concurrently, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products which adhere to Garver standards.
  • Some travel will be required as projects may require field work for site assessment of project locations and support during construction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Previous experience working with design software packages such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and Civil 3D.
  • Technical skills to work, or learn to work, safely and competently with electrical testing equipment.
  • Possession of PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.
  • Passion for Electrical, Aviation, and other special system projects.
Preferred Skills:
  • Current PE registration in Garver's states of practice.
  • Previous experience working with power modeling packages such as SKM and EasyPower.
