Student Success Specialist

Finger Lakes Community College is seeking a dedicated and results-driven professional to fill the position of Coordinator of First-Year Experience. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the academic journey of our first-year students and ensuring their success.
We are looking for an individual with a passion for student support and academic advisement, who can demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills, and provide exceptional support to our faculty and staff.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Faculty and Staff: You will provide resources and support to faculty with classroom management and educational planning, coordinate and deliver professional development in first-year experience pedagogy, and support first-year seminar faculty in adopting and developing proven and innovative teaching strategies.
- Community of Practice (CoP): You will assist in enhancing the transition and success of first-year students by addressing challenges such as student retention, engagement, and academic success, collaborate with key stakeholders to share insights, strategies, and resources, and coordinate the practical application of transition pedagogies.
- Liaison Between Departments: You will collaborate effectively with the Title III team, liaise with other departments, and coordinate with faculty stakeholders and appropriate Advisory Boards to influence the development of integrated systems to support first-year experience improvements.
- Compliance, Assessment and Accessibility: You will ensure all course materials, assessments, and activities comply with institutional accessibility standards and relevant legal requirements, develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of FYE programs, and design and administer surveys to gather feedback from students, faculty, and staff.

- A competitive starting salary of $52,874 - $59,094 per year.
