Position Summary

The OSP Field Installation and Repair Technician Level 1 role is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn and grow within the telecommunications field. You will receive comprehensive training to equip you with the skills necessary for service deployment and troubleshooting within our expanding fiber network.


This role is ideal for tech enthusiasts who enjoy working independently and are keen to embrace new challenges.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional customer service while educating clients on our products and services.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair services for Fiber To The Home (FTTH) customers.
- Execute installations for new services and equipment, including fiber drops and network interface devices, adhering to company standards.
- Configure customer equipment for Internet connectivity via modem and wireless router.
- Connect home units to external lines and run or install new lines as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve service-related issues within customer home networks.
- Demonstrate and instruct customers on the use of installed hardware and services.
- Maintain an organized inventory of supplies and requisition necessary materials.
- Complete all required Outside Plant forms and reports accurately.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines diligently.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.Qualifications

- Valid driver's license is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with company-supplied test equipment and safety practices is essential.
- Ability to multitask and manage various projects efficiently.
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail is crucial for record-keeping and documentation tasks.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, as well as adverse weather conditions.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Experience or willingness to learn how to configure and support customer routers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective troubleshooting.
- Proficient in operating tools and equipment safely.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions independently.
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration.
- Keen attention to detail and responsiveness to specific needs.Education and Experience

- High School diploma with training or experience in telephony voice and data practices.
- An Associate's Degree in computer technology or a related field is advantageous.
- All necessary tools and equipment will be provided by GoNetspeed. Regular work hours are scheduled, with flexibility required due to the nature of the role. Availability for extended hours, weekends, and occasional overtime is expected.
