Job Overview:

At Shoreham Drugs we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Pharmacist to join our team. As the Supervising Pharmacist, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Your expertise and leadership will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage and supervise the pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy
  • Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while overseeing compounding and labeling processes
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed
  • Participate in medical management activities, including formulary management and medication utilization reviews
  • Maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas
  • Provide clinical support in acute care settings such as the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and patient service
  • Monitor medication inventory levels and order medications as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Qualifications:


  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing
  • Previous experience as a licensed pharmacist
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and drug interactions
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and patients
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding and medication therapy management
  • Proficiency in medication administration, including IV infusion and pain management
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
