About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at Block Island Beach House. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our beachfront resort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems, including plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and electrical wiring.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures to minimize safety risks.
  • Record maintenance activities and repairs made to equipment and facilities.
  • Support the upkeep of all Lark properties in a proactive and preventative fashion, working with vendors, designers, and other stakeholders to maintain grounds, equipment functionality, and safety.
  • Plan and budget for maintenance projects in conjunction with the Department of Health to ensure alignment with budget and property performance.
  • Evaluate proposals for physical construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration to determine the best course of action to resolve deficiencies or maintenance issues.
  • Maintain property-specific safety and security procedures, including up-to-date maps of emergency shut-offs and key vendors.
  • Perform repairs on guest rooms to ensure they meet Lark Hotels standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Stellar communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic required.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written, with guests and employees.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
  • Familiarity with heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems preferred.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge required.
