Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite and involves a 24x7 on-call rotation. Candidates must be located in the vicinity of designated areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of both hardware and software to maintain system integrity and performance.
  • Continuously monitor system functionality and address any technical issues that arise.
  • Manage user accounts and implement access control measures.
  • Facilitate software and operating system updates and installations.
  • Conduct regular data backups to ensure data security and availability.
  • Collaborate with network specialists to enhance the efficiency of the IT infrastructure.
  • Provide expert technical support and assistance to end-users.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and modifications.
  • Establish and uphold security protocols to safeguard systems and sensitive information.
  • Perform periodic audits of systems to ensure adherence to security standards.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in System Administration, particularly with Oracle, Unix, and Linux systems.
  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions and drive issues to resolution.
  • Expertise in Unix system administration, particularly with Red Hat and Oracle Linux.
  • Proficient in scripting and programming for system administration in languages such as Bourne shell, Perl, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, specifically for RHEL and OEL.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat PCS clustering technologies.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours for both planned and emergency tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OS clustering technologies, including Veritas Infoscale and Oracle Clusterware.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Exadata systems.
