Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, LLC. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing HR support to our 500-employee manufacturing facility, including labor and employee relations, benefit administration, recruitment, and organizational learning and development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the first step of the grievance procedure and work closely with local Union leadership to resolve issues prior to the grievance process.
  • Provide on-going support to frontline supervision and senior plant management relative to policies, procedures, contract interpretation, employee counseling, and corrective action.
  • Support the benefit program for both salaried exempt, non-exempt, and hourly union employees.
  • Assist with all non-exempt and exempt recruitment, including the selection of appointed jobs internally.
  • Conduct employee training on benefits, harassment prevention, and other Company policies and procedures as required.
  • Provide guidance to all employees on an on-going basis with respect to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, discipline, attendance, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or extensive HR-related experience is required.
  • Three or more years' experience in Human Resources with demonstrated leadership skills and experience of labor and employee relations is a must.
  • Experience in manufacturing, benefit administration, and knowledge of EEO/Affirmative Action is preferred.
  • Must be capable of working independently, setting priorities, and remaining flexible.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate leadership and obtain respect with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to delegate as needed.
  • Possess problem-solving skills and can work effectively with others.
  • The position must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint. This position must be able to work within software systems including ADP, Kronos, and Alchemy.
